Choosing The Right Approach For You Integrity and Commitment to Client Service

Is it a rough patch, or signs of impending divorce?

Every California couple goes through a range of ups and downs within their marriage. It is completely normal to experience a difficult period, especially when other factors such as an illness in the family or money troubles are at play. However, there are some types of marital issues that deserve careful attention, and could suggest a high risk that the marriage could end in divorce.

One problem that should be taken seriously is a lack of a strong physical connection between spouses. Sex and intimacy are important aspects of a health married life, and when that connection falters, serious trouble can result. While each partner's level of desire can wax and wane throughout the stages of life, most healthy couples retain a string intimate connection.

Another sign of trouble on the horizon is a lack of communication between partners. Even couples who are married for decades still confide in one another on a daily basis. When one spouse find that he or she no longer wants to share daily trials and tribulations with his or her partner, there could be significant problems lying just under the surface of the relationship. Poor communication also tends to feed upon itself, and many couples find that their communication simply fades away when neither spouse takes action to solve the problem.

For those in California who are concerned about these issues, it is important to take an objective look at your marriage to see of the relationship is still meeting the needs of both partners. Many marriages can be saved through therapy or other solutions. However, in some cases the damage is simply too much to sustain, and divorce is the best options for all involved. In those instances, the energy of both spouses would be put to better use structuring a divorce settlement that allows them to move on toward new goals and aspirations.
